This is my guide to concrete. Concrete may not seem like a very sexy subject to write about but I hope that by the time you reach the end of this blog, you will have been inspired to use concrete to improve your home. Concrete isn't just for driveways and walls. You can use concrete in a lot of pretty creative ways around your home. I discovered this when I hired a team of concrete contractors. They were really great guys and while they were completing work around my home they taught me lots of cool things about working with concrete. I hope you enjoy this blog!
When you begin upgrading your business buildings and entryways, one of the options you will find is the use of coloured concrete. There are several ways that this type of concrete can be used to not only give you a solid and durable flooring but also give a unique design touch to the area. Here are a few of the ways you can use the concrete and what to know about each method.
Faux Mosaic
If you want to upgrade the entryway to your business, one way to do that is with a mosaic design. The problem is that a mosaic design can be costly and may not give you the outcome you want. You can create the same mosaic look you want with the use of coloured concrete. Your contractor can take the colours and create the design you are looking for. With the use of artistic techniques and different clear seals, you can come out with the same mosaic look you were wanting and a more budget-friendly price.
Brick Look
There are areas in the building you may want to have a brick look. An example of this would be using a brick look on the patio area for your employees. The bricks can take time to place and can cost additional contractor costs. You can use coloured concrete to create a brick look. The finished product can look like red brick, cobblestone or other similar designs. You can also go with a stone look or a mixture of stone and brick. If you have a design idea that uses bricks to create a pattern, you can have this done as well.
Wood Grains
You may want a wood grain and to not use concrete at all. You may find that the wood flooring is too costly or may not have the low maintenance that you would like to have. If you want the wood grain but want it easy to maintain and easy to clean, then using coloured concrete and painting techniques may be ideal. The finished product can look like wood plank flooring or wood grain flooring in the type of wood colour you desire.
If you think that using coloured concrete may be ideal for your building upgrades, contact your concrete contractor. They can offer a consultation and give you suggestions for colouring and development of your project. They can also help with pricing and other questions you may have. Keep in mind that colours may vary depending on your location and needs.
